Brentwood Dermatology is Reopening for In-Office Appointments

Brentwood Dermatology is now open for in-person appointments, and we are doing so based on the guidelines from current federal, state, and local governments, including medical boards and other authorities. As we pass the CDC criteria for Phase 1 reopening, we continue to monitor the situation carefully and take proper precautions.

We have used information from the CDC and physician leaders to come up with a plan for reopening while maintaining the safety of our patients and our staff.

How we ensure the safety of our patients and our staff

The safety of our patients and staff is always our top priority. In accordance with the CDC and local health organizations’ guidelines, we are implementing the following safety procedures:

  • Conducting daily temperature checks for all staff members and patients
  • Asking screening questions for anyone who enters the office
  • Rescheduling patients who exhibit symptoms or have been exposed to COVID-19
  • Ensuring ill or exposed staff follow appropriate self-quarantine measures
  • Instituting social distancing protocols, including limited provider schedules and reduced waiting room capacity
  • Offering telehealth appointments
  • Limiting visitors to those escorts required for special assistance or circumstances
  • Thoroughly sanitizing waiting areas and high-touch surfaces multiple times a day
  • Cleaning exam rooms after each use in accordance with current CDC guidelines
  • Providing readily-available hand sanitizer, tissues, and trash cans for patients and visitors

What to expect when you visit our office for your appointment

When you visit the office for your appointment, someone at the front desk will ask you screening questions and take your temperature. If you exhibit symptoms of COVID-19, or if you have been exposed to someone with the virus, we will reschedule your appointment.

All staff will have face masks and eye protection, and we ask that patients also wear a cloth covering over their mouths and nostrils for the duration of their visit.

Please do not bring visitors into the office unless you need them for assistance or special circumstances. If you do bring someone with you, we ask that they wait in the vehicle you arrived in.

We believe that these social distancing measures, in addition to the limited use of pens, magazines, paper, and other common-use items, will keep patients and our staff safe.

We are still offering telehealth appointments

For some appointments, an in-office visit may not be necessary. Thanks to the new telehealth option, we can offer a convenient and safe option for our patients. Most insurance providers treat telehealth appointments the same as a regular in-office appointment, and we are able to provide the same level of care; the only difference is that your consultation takes place through a video call.

To schedule a telehealth appointment, you can call us or schedule an appointment through the patient portal. After you schedule your appointment, we will send you an email with a time slot and a link for you to click on when it’s time to access the video chat with your doctor.

During your appointment, you can use the camera on your device to show the physician areas of concern, and they will prescribe treatment or determine if an in-office appointment is necessary for further diagnosis. Make sure that you’re in a spot with bright natural light so the dermatologist can see you easily.
